Scope and Content
The Interleavings Collection consists of items discovered in books cataloged by the University of Kentucky Special Collections. When possible the call number of the book, in which the item was found, is recorded in parenthesis following the title. The collection includes primarily letters from or to the authors of these books including John Wilson Townsend, Elizabeth Robsen, and Lula Vollmer. Additionally, the collection contains notes, writings, cards, and newspaper clippings.

Contents of the Collection

General, 1899-1964

The General series consists of three subseries: Letters, Notes and writings, and Cards. The Letters subseries contains letters from authors, usually concerning the book where the letters were found. Notes and writings includes genealogical notes, masonic writings, and chemistry notes. Cards contains primarily Christmas cards. Notable items include a letter and notes from Thomas Kemp concerning his transcription of the Black Book of Warwick and a letter from the artist Van Deren Coke.
