Biography / History
Helen H. Evans was the hostess-curator of the Old Governor's Mansion. The mansion is used as the residence of the Lt. Governor. When the renovations occurred the office of Lt. Governor for the Commonwealth of Kentucky was empty.
Scope and Content
This collection contains materials relating to the Old Governor's Mansion located in Frankfort, Kentucky. The records on the mansion were compiled by Helen H. Evands during renovations in 1975. The compilation consists of blueprints, inventory lists, and purchase requistions, as well as photocopies and sketches. All of these relate to the mansion and its history. Some of the documents were created during the renovation process. Also included in the collection are invitations to the inaugural ball and Kentucky Derby breakfast.
