- Alan G. Billings served on the faculty of the University of Louisville from September 1958 to June 1960, as Instructor of English and Technical Director for the University Theater. Born on June 29, 1929, in Atlanta, Georgia, Billings earned a B.F.A. from the University of Georgia in 1955 and an M.F.A. from the Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1958. In July 1999, Billings donated four drawings of set designs that he had done for the Louisville Little Theatre Co. and for the University of Louisville Players in 1959-1960. Included in this donation were playbills for the Louisville Theatre featuring J. Wilkes Booth and Edwin Booth dating from 1862-1863. At the time of donation, Billings was Professor Emeritus of the School of Music, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
