The organization was established in 1974 to promote the common interest of residents, property owners and business people within the South Hill Neighborhood. The Association is concerned with the preservation and development of architectural and environmental features of South Hill. It worked in cooperation with the Blue Grass Trust and the Lexington Historic Commission to place the neighborhood on the National Register of Historic Places.
