Biography / History
Governor Issac Shelby served in office from 1792-1796 as a Jeffersonian Republican. Originally from Maryland, Shelby resided in Lincoln County, KY and worked as a Farmer, Surveyor, and Soldier. Shelby was active in the American Revolution and frontier campaigns against the Indians, and was elected Governor again in 1812.
