Biography / History
In the late nineteenth century, German and Swiss colonies were established at Ottenheim, Highland, and Crab Orchard in Lincoln County, Ky. and near Franklin in Simpson County.
Scope and Content
Mohr family papers (dated 1870-1889, bulk 1889; 0.1 cubic feet; 1 folder) comprise letters concerning German colonization enterprises in Lincoln and Simpson counties in Kentucky. In addition to the Mohr family's correspondence, there are a few blank vouchers of the Lincoln Land Company. The originals are in German. Some have been translated into English.
