Collection Overview

Scope and Content
A large engraved image of Goebel surrounded by laurel leaves in the center of the poster. Images around the poster's edges include the governor's mansion, a depiction of Goebel's assassination, his lying in state, and the capitol. The words attributed to the governor as his last words, "Tell my friends to be brave and fearless and loyal to the great common people," are printed below his image. The approximate date for this lithograph is 1900.
