            <p>The Withers family papers include receipts, deeds, contracts, indentures, surveys, account books, tax receipts, stock certificates, and correspondence. Most letters deal with business matters, although a few discuss family news. Several bills for such items as groceries, lumber, and lawyers' fees are also contained. Some land deeds include property surveys.</p>
